Sports
I play sports all year round. In the Fall, I didn't play anything this year but next year I will be playing for the Golf team. In the Winter, I will be playing hockey and in the Spring I will be playing Baseball. I play hockey and baseball the most because they are my favorite sports. Out of both of them I like hockey better. I love sports because they keep me moving and I love the competitve games and I'm very athletic. I play hockey every month. There isn't a month that I am not playing hockey. I will play Golf during the Fall of my Sophomore year. I will be playing Golf because I find it fun and it is a sport many hockey players play. Those are the sports that I play.
Hockey Season
This hockey season I will playing as a forward for the Somerset-Berkely Regional High School Varsity Ice Hockey team. The beginning of the season has not yet started. We have already had sign-ups and Captains Practices start on October 30 from 9-10 and are every Tuesday until Thanksgiving. I am hoping to be on second line this year and to play a lot. The picture I have is related to hockey. This year I hope to win the Prenda Cup championship which is a little tournament between Somerset, Diman, Aponnequet, and finally Durfee. For the past 5 years Somerset has won. I am hoping to win the Prenda Cup all four years of High School and atleast once be the MVP of the tournament. I also have hopes and expectations to make it far in the Massachusetts State Tournament. If you make it all the way to the Championship you get the chance to play at the Boston Garden. Which is where the Boston Bruins skate and play. I am going play my heart out in each and every single second I am on the ice for the Varsity Team. Playing for the Varsity team as a Freshmen is a privilege and I will make the most out of it. Hockey is what I do all the time and is something I am good at. I work at it constantly.
Baseball Season
Yesterday was our first try out and we had to be in the gym. We had 3 different stations and divided the group into 3 groups: Freshmen, Sophomore, Juniors&Seniors. The stations consisted of Throwing Progression and little drills to see how our arms are. The second station consisted of Conditioning and Strength, in that we had 8 stations and were divided among our group. We did things like planks, push ups, medicine balls, curls, etc. The final station we went to were the cages where we would hit and the coaches evaluated us on hitting and our form. It was machine pitch with batting cage balls.
Baseball and Summer Hockey
During Term 4, I have just finished with school baseball. I was on the JV baseball team and our record was 11-9. We had a pretty good season, but a season that could have beem better. I am now focusing on this upcoming hockey season next winter. I will be a Sophomore playing with the Varsity team, just like I did freshmen year. I have been playing for a high school coaches league every thursday night and it lasts throughout the summer. I was picked on my coaches team. Although we don't have everyone on our team because it is an MIAA rule that your high school coach can't coach more than half of his high school team, prior to the season/ during the offseason. This was me scoring a goal against Diman in one of the last games of the year.
